As a young man growing up in Memphis, TN Brock Ford enjoyed strong ties to his Southern Baptist family. His grandfather a minister, his mother an organist and aunt a piano player in the church.
From the age of 5 years old, Brock learned there were "differences" of people when he was told that he couldn't play with the little boy that had just moved in down the street - the first black family to move into the neighborhood.
As a teenager, Brock realized that his family believed LGBTQ people were an "abomination" of God, the worst sinners and worthy of death. Brock kept silent because deep inside he knew he was one of those people and didn't want to be exposed and hurt.
But when he came out at the age of 22, Brock’s life and family relationships were shattered. His family declared they would rather see him dead than disgrace the family.
Brock fled to Dallas, TX to begin a new life. In Dallas, Brock focused on his career with The Dallas Morning News as he began building a new life and making a new family.
However, Brock’s older sister and mother lovingly remained loyal and inclusive to him and his nieces, nephew and their kids bring him much joy.
Eight years later, Brock accepted a job in Bakersfield, CA and ultimately moved to San Francisco in 1996, becoming Associate Publisher of (LGBTQ publication) Frontiers Newsmagazine.
In 2005 Brock made a dramatic career switch, becoming a successful Realtor and Trainer.
Love, romance, friendship and heartache all flowed into Brock’s life over time.
Throughout those years in Dallas and San Francisco, Brock had a growing sense of awareness that he had a calling to be of service to, homosexuals, people of color, and most especially people that had been ousted, hurt and abused by their family.
In 2018 the most important person in Brock’s world, his older sister, died suddenly.
A few short months later his mother died. When Brock returned to Tennessee to their funerals he was met with the same threats and condemnation from the estranged part of the family.
Grief stricken, Brock returned to San Francisco. Resigned his job, isolated himself and fell into deep depression. And yet, in the depths of that despair Brock had a supernatural experience. In a moment of profound spiritual awareness, he was “told” that it was time to make his “calling” a reality.
He was told to share his story, help others in similar situations and spread a message of Love, Compassion, Tolerance, Forgiveness and Understanding.
With the support of a dear friend Peter and guidance from a valued mentor, Martha, Brock earned a Doctorate Degree in Religious Studies; Master’s of Interfaith Religious Studies degree, and was Ordained as a Minister in Science of Mind/Religious Science.
He is currently guest speaking at churches and centers around the San Francisco Bay Area, former Associate Minister of Unity Spiritual Center of San Francisco, and travels the Bay Area, assuring people of all races, denominations and orientations that they are deserving and capable of love and happiness; helping families heal and learn alternative ways of communicating and of being together.
"My greatest gift has been learning to be grateful in all things - even grief, loss, pain and suffering. In meeting it face to face, allowing it, moving through it; forgiving and surrendering to its hold over me, I have gained freedom, peace and understanding and am living a triumphant life."

I have the great privilege to know and serve with Brock Ford in the Extraordinary Leadership year long program I facilitate. He has consistently been enrolled in spiritual education and consciousness building programs since we met several years ago.
He has served in various leadership capacities, including President of a thriving Unity Church. He is a student of life, having completed hours of New Thought courses, workshops, seminars, and training's as well as serving in several ministry roles. He recently completed an Interfaith Studies through Emerson Institute and has spoken in several ministries around the Bay Area of California.
For decades, Brock has been a successful and esteemed realtor, trainer of realtors and respected colleague for many. He has demonstrated a high level of compassion and respect in his business and professional endeavors as well. He has the heart of a pastor and the actions of a chaplain in the ways he cares for people, pets and all of humanity. He is a great addition for any organization with a mission of uniting people, building community, and expanding consciousness.
Rev. Dr. Martha C.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Brock Ford for 23 years. We met at our church Unity San Francisco and quickly became friends. During this time, I have had the pleasure of training Brock to be a Prayer Chaplain and he served with amazing leadership. Leading his members with clarity and compassion. Brock also served on the Unity SF Board of Trustees for 6 years. The last four of the six years he was our Board President and he demonstrated amazing leadership, leading the church through tough times. Leading the church for two years when we were without a minister and was instrumental in our search for a new Preacher. Through his leadership we were able to secure our current preacher minister. Brock is an amazing consciousness and will be a wonderful, preacher to whatever congregation he is assigned. He leads with intelligence, compassion, and a clarity of purpose and will be an asset wherever he serves. It is with love that I commend him for his leadership skills.

Prayer Chaplain Emeritus for Unity San Francisco
I am so proud of my dear friend Brock Ford in his achievements in Real Estate and now in his Ministry. I have known him since 2012 and we work together as Managers at Century 21. He has prayed with me many times over the years, he always prays at our Company Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner and at our special events. He is known around the office as the Pastor of our office. He asked me to let him pray with me for 5 weeks for his schoolwork and of course I said yes quickly. This pandemic has affected me and so many others in ways that we just couldn’t imagine a year ago. I have asked him to pray for me, pray for the world, pray for some friends that have been physically affected by Covid 19 and one that has died. He also prayed for me and my family while my sister was in the hospital and after she passed away three weeks ago. Prayer has a way of calming me down, helping me remember that God is in control and that I am loved and cared for. These last five weeks of prayer with Brock has sincerely been a blessing to me and I have already asked him to continue praying with me once a week going forward. I love Brock as a brother and am so proud of him. Best regards, Janet H.
Brock has helped me in so many ways. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for the last four years. Through personal consultations and attending his workshops, I have learned a great deal about myself, learned the necessity of forgiving, living with intention and how to move forward with my dreams. He has always inspired me to reach higher and deeper. He supports me when I'm unsure and helps me stay on track with my goals and vision for my work and life. He has been my rock in the storm and I absolutely adore him. Monica S.
Please allow this to serve as reference to the capacity and capabilities of the Prayers from Mr. Brock Ford.
I had 5 weekly prearranged scheduled sessions with Rev. Ford. The first week we prayed for sleep and an appetite. I wasn't eating or sleeping at all, waking up in the middle of the night. I was confused and weak. I got good sleep the first night of prayer and woke up to not only wanting breakfast, but lunch and dinner too. I have been sleeping all night and eating every day breakfast, lunch and dinner, just about. I must say, honestly, I don't know where I would be without Brock's amazing sincere prayers. This is not something one can acquire or be taught, one has to be born with it and feel it sincerely. Brock has it as God is my witness, he has it! I pray to continue my weekly prayers with Brock and proclaim him as my Pastor.
Sincerely,
Koland M.
I met Brock in 2012 at the Unity Church of San Francisco. At that time, Brock was involved in lay leadership and served as the minister’s Sunday assistant, workshop leader, and occasional platform assistant and speaker. Brock then ascended to board service, filling the role of board secretary and, ultimately, board president. In the latter role, he guided his fellow board members and the church congregation through the transition of the minister’s retirement and worked closely with the transitional minister during the eight months it took to find and hire the next permanent minister. Through this part of his tenure, Brock guided the church through personnel changes to the board and all facets of church operation while the ministerial search was ongoing. In addition to his career responsibilities as a Realtor, Brock selflessly invested considerable time and energy to the ministerial search, maintained the administrative integrity of church business and took the lead in balancing its budget, supported the transitional minister in her role, and modeled leadership, constancy, and maturity to the board and congregation.
In addition to being generous, dedicated, and loving, Brock possesses considerable business acumen and the skill to spot and groom talent, offer constructive criticism, and actively listen and compassionately respond to all who seek his counsel. He would be an asset to your organization.
